On Saturday November 10, groups across Australia came together to protest against the live animal export industry. Great, you may say. Unfortunately they also did the meat industry's work for it, promoting an increase in local slaughter.
Yes that's right, the groups want to have more animals murdered in Australia, and spent the weekend promoting the industry.
The final straw in this mess is the support the campaign is getting from the meat industry itself:

This highlights perfectly what's wrong with many animal welfare groups; when the meat industry is behind your campaign, you've lost the plot.
Animal rights and veganism are the answer to the problem (and all problems relating to animal issues), not spreading the meat industry's propaganda about "humane slaughter" (which in an oxymoron). Did the Suffragettes campaign for more humane dominance of women? Was the American Civil war fought to give black slaves a more comfortable bed in their slave quarters? No - these were abolitionist positions fought by dedicated people willing to put their freedom and even lives on the line for a cause.
It all boils down to this; animals are not property, resources, food, entertainment, test subjects, clothing or anything else people make money from - animals are not ours.

stressed? "Humane Slaughter" is just a way for meat eaters to somehow make themselves believe that murder of innocent
animals somehow isn't wrong.
